Today was awesome! (#School Blog 7)

Like I said in the title, today was awesome!

Let me elaborate. I've been on a trip with my music class and the year 11's music class to a Indonesian chapel in Gateshead (North-East of England) and it was really cool... well, for me at least.

Bus trip was awesome, if you know me, you'll understand I love long bus-rides more than I love going to the destination itself. I messed around with my cousin Kenny while listening to music and using spare paper from her notebook to throw off our friends whom were sitting in front of the bus.

When we got there, we sat down and we had to take our shoes off as a sign of respect Kenny and this other lad both sitting behind me laughed at my stripy green and black socks as I called them my 'sexy socks'. We got taught a lil' bit about the chapel and the Indonesian musical culture... and eventually we got to go on the instruments.

Indonesian Gongs

There were all sorts of things from gongs to Indonesian style xylophones. I played some sort of instrument surrounded by spherical cymbals (No, they were not drums!), can't seem to remember the name but I really enjoyed it. We learned several Indonesian music pieces and chopped and changed instruments.

We had a lil' break, me, Kenny, the lad behind me and a girl sitting beside me had a discussion about zombie games and movies and how the new series of The Walking Dead starts on my birthday (October 14th). And about how this kid we nickname 'a paedo' (friendly way though) is taking home an electronic baby and what he would 'do' with it.

We then went back to the instruments, played a bit more, learned a bit more and then it was ready to go back to school.... sigh.

On the bus on the way back, 'twas awesome, found out the dude that sat behind me in the chapel enjoyed bands like: Metallica, The Ramones, The Sex Pistols, Nirvana, Sum 41. We also talked about things we regretted doing (I once punched my brother in the face full force because he was throwing my Narnia crayons and pens out of my box), Kay regretted smoking (she doesn't do it now!), and how the guy regretted stabbing his sister in the arm with a pen or something.

Then I come back to school, and start to feel like shit because most of my friends are talking to me all at once, tugging at my blazer, and trying to get my attention. And I hate when people are in my face all talking to me at once being the center of attention. But meh, all together today has still been good.

That concludes my day.

  1. You change Kenny to Kay half way through. Just saying. And I wasn't pulling on your blazer.
