So, here are some of my highlights of 2012! :
Kerrang! Relentless Tour! (Sunday 12th Feb 2012)
Ah yes, the 'Kerrang! Relentless Tour!' I recall was absolutely amazing, originally Sum 41 and New Found Glory were supposed to headline, but unfortunately, Deryck (the lead singer and guitarist of Sum 41) had slipped disks in his back, and was told it would be best for him to not perform so his back could heal, so instead of Sum 41, The Blackout filled in for them. I'll admit I was saddened by this, ( and I did slightly tear up and cry :'P ), but when it came to the night, The Blackout sang their own heavier version of 'Fatlip' and I couldn't resist but sing along. And New Found Glory were kick-ass as well! I sang my heart out along to them and their songs like: 'Hit Or Miss', 'My Friends Over You', 'All Downhill From Here' and their own versions of 'Blitzkrieg Bop', 'Basket Case' and 'Kiss Me' (by The Ramones, Green Day and Sixpence None The Rich). The other backing bands that performed (While She Sleeps, Let Live) were 'Screamo' something I don't listen to (I don't hate it, nor like it) but they did put on a good performance, along with The Blackout.
UMT Generator Music Course (Monday 6th Aug 2012 - Friday 10th 2012)
This music course I attended was simply amazing, I don't know how else to explain it. But we did make 'schweet, schweet music' as my friend Joe once before stated in his Herbert the Pervert voice. But it wasn't just about the music, I made some amazingly funny friends (a few in which also like Sum 41!) while being there, and we had hilarious moments together, for example, on occasions when we weren't making our magical music, me, my new friends Joe and Matt, and my other friend Rachael, would play this game called 'Bullshit' (most commonly known as 'Cheat') and gamble for gummy frogs (which Joe hilariously thought were gummy turtles).
We'd also eat our food outside, seeming as it was the summer and quite hot, and we'd have friendly food wars with other bands (my friend Rachael threw a bag of opened nuts off another band) and we'd all talk in Herbert The Pervert voices (although at the time I sounded like Mr Hankey The Christmas Poo off South Park, but my impression has yet improved).
But particularly, Joe and Matt, would talk in Herbert voices and say things to other younger bands such as:
- "You want a popsicle? My cellar's full of popsicles!
- "If it gets too hot and sweaty for you out here, feel free to take your shirt off"
- "I hope you don't find the money strapped to my thigh"
- "Get your fat ass over here"
- "Sweet Jesus"
Yes, well as they were the biggest group, they got the main hall, and we were one of the smallest groups, with only 4 people, so we got moved from what we called 'the smelly room' for practice to the dressing practice room, which was right beside the hall, and also which had two doors. So we decided to mess with their heads.
Every two seconds, one of these annoying 11 year old's would storm down the corridor in a mood because they didn't get their own way, or if they didn't agree on something. So, we would set up our music gear, just in case we got caught so we could use the excuse "We were in the middle of practicing, but they kept on annoying us, so we told them off". Anyways, every time one of these little kids stormed down the corridor, one of us would go to one door at one side of the room, and another one of us would get at the other door and make noises each at a time, so every time one of the little kids turned around they got confused, unsure which door the noise came from. And one time, one of the staff at the music course, caught them wandering in the corridor confused, came into our room to ask what was going on, and we told him that they were interrupting and distracting us from our practice. We kept this up for 5 days doing this, and annoying them in general, singing and talking to them in Herbert voices, and we never got caught in the act once. Ninjas.
But the weirdest thing was, when it came to performing in front of everyone, each band needed two members to introduce the upcoming performance. And me and my friend Matt, were asked to introduce information about the course... and introduce.... that annoying girl group. And I was the one to read out all of their names... so many names.
But all in all, the music course was amazing!
And here is a picture of me making my debut as 'SpiderCowell' and a photo of Matt, in a silly hat (wow, that rhymes) playing Sudoku ^_^:

The Day I Got Given An Energy Drink And I Went Absolutely Apeshit Hyper.
Yup. Basically what the title says. I thought it was hilarious and it's definitely a school moment i'll remember.
Also, the other school day I got locked in the school toilet stall and thought it was absolutely hilarious.
Again. What the title says.
So basically, the top two were my only main highlights of 2012, I know it's only 2, but damn, I made some damn good memories there, and the last two I added for attempted comedy. Hey, maybe when I leave school i'll make a 'Highlights of School' blog?
And If I think of anymore highlights, i'll be sure to add them and update this blog all for your reading needs :')
